FALLBROOK – Whether naturally occurring or man-made, wildfires pose a serious threat to life and property. As the population expands into the outlying areas of San Diego County, it is imperative that residents develop a plan to reduce their potential risk for loss from wildfires.
The Fallbrook Fire Safe Council (FFSC) mission is to preserve the area’s manmade and natural resources by providing information, project leadership and support to help mobilize Californians to protect their homes, communities and environment from wildfires. The FFSC works closely with the North County Fire Protection District. It is seeking volunteers to boost the membership and effectiveness of the organization.
Anyone interested in joining this award-winning group can contact Dorothy Roth, (760) 728-1100 or Fire Marshal Sid Morel, (760) 723-2015, or show up at the monthly meeting scheduled for 3 p.m. on March 3, and every first Thursday of the month, at the Fire Department’s Scout Hut, located at 231 Hawthorne.
