Mr. Bowles gets a number of things wrong about science and evolution in his letter.
First, scientists refer to the “theory” of evolution simply out of scientific habit. In science, everything is a theory that must be subject to disproof. At this point, the scientific evidence supporting evolution is so abundant, that one would have to be willfully ignorant to not accept the matter as settled.
