Lancers beat Warriors in girls water polo quarterfinals

Carlsbad High School’s girls water polo team ended Fallbrook’s season Feb. 19 with an 11-4 win over the Warriors at La Jolla High School’s Coggan Pool.

The CIF Division I quarterfinal playoff game sent the Lancers to the semifinals while ending Fallbrook’s season with a final 19-9 record.

“I don’t think you can ever be really disappointed losing to Carlsbad. They’re a really good team,” said Fallbrook coach Bob Lamont. “They were faster in the water, which is always difficult to counter.”
