Warrior baseballers win twice after Opening Day loss

Although Fallbrook High School’s baseball team lost its 2011 season opener, the Warriors then won their next two games.

Fallbrook’s 17-4 home loss March 5 against Temecula Valley was followed by a 13-2 home triumph March 8 against Mount Carmel, which gave new head coach Mark DiBenedetti his first win. The Warriors’ first road game of the season March 10 resulted in an 8-0 victory over Del Norte. All three games were part of the Pirate-Falcon Classic tournament.

“I like the way we’re playing,” DiBenedetti said. “We can just get better, and we will.”
