Boys Scouts collect food for the needy

FALLBROOK – Two local Boy Scout Troops recently collected food to donate to the Fallbrook Food Pantry to help those in need in the community.

Boy Scout Troop 735 held a food drive and collected approximately one ton of food which they donated to the Pantry. Leaders of the pack also accepted a challenge from the Food Pantry to participate in the upcoming Crop Walk scheduled for April 10 and will seek sponsors for the endeavor.

Pack 738 also participated in this year’s Boy Scouts of American Scouting for Food campaign. With the support of St. Peter’s Catholic School and church parishioners, the scouts were able to collect over 300 items for the Fallbrook Food Pantry. While delivering their donation, they received a tour of the food pantry to understand how it operates.
