Whether fighting walls of fire or racing downhill on ice, Brandon Lucore, 45, is a man who excels at both ends of the temperature spectrum. Lucore, a battalion chief for North County Fire and 1983 graduate of Fallbrook High School, recently returned from Mammoth Mountain where he medaled in two events at the California Fire & Police Winter Olympics held March 7 through 10. The annual event draws active duty and retired police officers and firefighters from all over the United States.
