Sims named director of spa operations at Pala

PALA – Zita C. Sims has been named the new director of spa operations at Pala Casino Spa & Resort it was announced March 14 by William F. Bembenek, Pala’s chief executive officer.

In her new position, Sims has overall management responsibility for Pala’s award-winning spa, salon and retail including maintaining sales and service levels, recruitment, training of staff and overall responsibility of pool operations. In 2009, Pala Spa was recognized nationally as the Best Casino Spa by Spas of America and Best Casino Spa by the Southern California Gaming Guide.

Previously, Sims served as the spa director for Wynn Resorts and The Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, both in Las Vegas, Nev., and was spa manager for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Chicago, Ill.

Sims holds a bachelor’s of science degree in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and a certificate of theology from Cornerstone Christian College in South Africa.
