I am in awe of the completeness of “intelligent design” and the wonders of the universe that we have been given.
How insightful of God to have included errors and flaws in order to give man something to do with his “free will.” Earthquakes, volcanoes, ice ages, tornados, and droughts are amazingly difficult conjure up.
Just think of all the incredible achievements derived from scientific design. God should be mightily pleased with man’s incredible accomplishment of inventions and discoveries that have helped relieve 5000 years (age of the universe per the Bible) of suffering from disease, famine, and “natural” disasters.
We have learned how to treat cancer, heart disease, wipe out bubonic plague, and eradicate small pox. We have figured out how to build earthquake resistant structures, fight pestilence and develop antibiotics to counter those pesky “free will” bacterium and lots of other cool stuff.
We couldn’t save the dinosaurs though and that’s probably why they didn’t make it into the Bible. I’m pretty confidant that “the plan” doesn’t include another big meteorite hit which could wipe out humanity. I don’t worry about it at all.
I appreciate all the prayers being sent to Japan to help console the suffering caused by the massive earthquake destruction even though we all know that prayer is a waste of time. You can’t have prayer if you’ve been given free will. It’s a contradiction that even God would acknowledge.
I look forward to embracing the future wonders from scientific design.
