Profiting from desperation

You may have seen them as you drive around town – signs that advertise, “Pay your bills” or “Pay off your mortgage.” These are part of a billboard ad campaign by Casino Pauma to promote gambling at its casino.

To suggest that gambling is a viable solution for financial distress is, to me, offensive. Some people are so desperate that they may believe gambling is the fastest way to dig themselves out of a financial hole. Suze Orman would surely say, “Shame on you Casino Pauma.”
