National BBQ teams to compete in Pala

PALA – More than 45 local and national barbecue teams will compete for $7,500 in prize money and international rankings in the Pala Championship Barbecue Competition from noon to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 2, on Pala’s west parking lot. The event, co-sponsored by the Kansas City BBQ Society, will be part of Pala’s 10th anniversary celebration.

Tickets will be $5 at the gate, which includes entry to the grounds and one tasting. Additional tastings will cost $10 for three and $20 for 10. The gates open on Pala’s west parking lot at 10 a.m. The public tasting begins at noon. A panel of barbecu...
