Squirrels and gophers, when admired simply for their appearance and resourcefulness, are quite charming and inventive creatures, but when they devour a family’s carefully nurtured landscape or vegetable garden, their popularity plummets.

“[Squirrels and gophers] are a huge problem here,” said Glen Fowler, owner of Fowler Pest Control in Fallbrook. “The reason they favor this area is because of the perfect climate and all the agriculture and plant life.”
