Jones, Bernal win in first Mt. Carmel Field/Distance Invitational

Fallbrook High School senior Justin Jones and junior Chris Bernal posted top marks at the first Mount Carmel Field/Distance Invitational track and field meet.

The March 5 meet at Mount Carmel High School included Jones’ win in the invitational 800-meter race with a time of 1:59.90 and Bernal’s long jump of 22 feet 7 inches. “It was a great meet. A lot of great things happened for us,” said Fallbrook head coach Troy Hamlin.

Including Hannah Wilson, who won the girls triple jump, Fallbrook ended the meet with three county leaders for the year. “That’s pretty good,” Hamlin said.
