After Mary Magdalene found Jesus’ tomb empty, she ran to the disciples to tell them of her findings. Most were stunned by her story, and were even more so when Jesus appeared to them. However, one of Jesus’ disciples, Thomas, was not with them when Jesus revealed Himself (John 20:24).
