Signal for E. Mission/Santa Margarita on priority list

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted to place the intersection of East Mission Road and Santa Margarita Drive on the county’s Traffic Signal

Priority List.

The supervisors’ 5-0 vote April 5 ratifies a January 28 recommendation of the county’s Traffic Advisory Committee. The intersection meets the peak-hour and four-hour volume warrants for a traffic signal. Although the accident rate based on right-of-way collisions alone would not meet the accident warrant for a signal, if the curve-related accidents are included the rate would meet that warrant.
