MURRIETA - Pretrial motions was slated to be heard Thursday for the retrial of a Nuevo man accused of gunning down a repair shop owner over payment for what the defendant believed was shoddy work.
The attorney for Saul Villa Avalos informed Riverside County Superior Court Judge Timothy Freer Monday that he would be ready to begin proceedings before the end of the week. Deputy District Attorney Greg Garrison has previously indicated he’s prepared to move forward with the case.
Avalos remains held without bail at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta.
