22-year-old Camp Pendleton Marine Lance Cpl. Joe M. Jackson killed in combat

SAN DIEGO - The Pentagon released the name today of a 22-year-old Camp Pendleton Marine killed in combat this week in Afghanistan.

Lance Cpl. Joe M. Jackson of White Swan, Wash., died in Helmand Province on Sunday, according to the Department of Defense.

He was a member of the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
