FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Union High School (FUHS) Rotary Interact (RI) Service Club earned its highest honor recently when RI President Ray Klinginsmith awarded the club with the Rotary International Presidential Citation.
There are over 10,000 clubs in 118 countries around the world, and of the thousands of Interact Clubs worldwide, few are able to attain such high profile recognition. The FUHS Interact Club is sponsored by The Rotary Club of Fallbrook in keeping with their goal to promote youth and youth groups following in the footsteps of the Rotary motto “Service Above Self.”
Interact students, ages 14 to 18, can be found assisting in community service events such as Rotarians at Work days, and the Fallbrook Rotary annual fundraiser Lobster On The Green, and also with individual needs such as visiting and assisting at local nursing homes, the Boys and Girls Club, and more.
The award plaque was presented to FUHS Principal Rod King to be displayed on the office reception room wall along with other school recognitions and plaques.
This year, the FUHS Interact Club president is Dylan Dawkins, Rotary advisor is Dick Goodlake, and FUHS Interact Club site coordinator is Karen Ricci.
