Bereavement group offers six-week session

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Hospice (affiliated with Fallbrook Hospital) will be sponsoring a free six-week bereavement group program entitled “Your Journey Through Grief – Spiritual, Emotional, and Social Perspectives,” beginning May 12. Weekly sessions will cover a variety of topics relating to grief. Attendees are welcome to attend all sessions or individual ones they wish to select.

Session topics will be as follows:

• May 12 – Landmarks Along the Way (Kubler-Ross’ five stages)

• May 26 – Tools for Navigating Your Journey (Beliefs, regrets, “visitations,” your “story,” etc.)

• June 9 - Hazards, roadblocks, and detours (Details, anniversaries, holidays, finances, etc.)

• June 23 - Same Journey – Different Routes (Different types of death and loss)

• July 7 - What is your GPS system? (Does spirituality play a role?)

• July 21 - The Destination – Are We There Yet? [Closure—when and how it comes]

Specialists in grief have said bereavement groups provide a “good opportunity to meet others going through similar journeys and to learn and share.”

Sessions will be held at Regency Fallbrook, 609 E. Elder Street, Fallbrook beginning at 6:30 pm. For more information, call Fallbrook Hospice at (760)

731-7741.
