Rainbow Water adopts new ordinance for rates, charges

The Rainbow Municipal Water District (RMWD) board of directors agreed to adopt an ordinance that would reduce sewer pumping rates and variable sewer rates at its April 26 meeting.

According to the meeting’s agenda, Ordinance 11-02 would implement a reduction in the pumping rate charged to customers residing in higher elevations. The variable rate is based on the electrical cost for each pump, with the fixed portion of the charge consisting of direct maintenance and labor costs.
