Warrior girls win league swim title Sommer, 200 medley relay team also league champions

Fallbrook High School’s girls swim team won its first league championship since 1984 when the Warriors took first place at the Avocado East League meet May 13 at Palomar College.

The league finals included Fallbrook senior Tamzen Sommer’s win in the 100-yard backstroke. Fallbrook also won the 200-yard medley relay with Sommer swimming the backstroke, junior exchange student Vivian Vannewart representing the Warriors for 50 breaststroke yards, junior Sarah Bushnell competing in the butterfly, and senior Jackie Verdon anchoring the race with the freestyle stroke.
