Village Home Care: caring locals willing to help

To those who are young and capable, the essential everyday steps of taking care of oneself are easily accomplished without a single thought. However, for individuals who are elderly and may not be able to easily care for themselves, these types of personal chores become exhausting and troublesome.

Since 1999, the staff of Village Home Care has been helping residents of Fallbrook by providing an essential service for aging or ailing individuals who want to continue to live in their home with dignity and comfort.

The Village Home Care staff goes beyond offering non-medical assistance, such as personal care, meal preparations, light housekeeping, companionship, transportation and respite care for patients. The staff demonstrates their caring attitude, competency and experience with each client that they serve. This is possible because each staff member is familiar with the area, and is proud to provide a necessary service to neighbors.

“Each one of my staff members is local to the Fallbrook area, and takes pride in serving their community,” said owner Carol Stevens, who is an LVN and Fallbrook native herself.

Stevens’ nursing background includes a large emphasis on geriatrics, which allows her to understand the unique needs and concerns that her clients may have.

After over a decade working in the field of caretaking, Stevens also understands that the financial aspect of personal care plays a big role in selecting a company for family members to trust with elderly parents. To help make the decision easier, she works within customers’ budgets to tailor a payment plan that will allow them to have a highly qualified, CPR-trained employee of Village Home Care assist the individual in their home.

In addition, Village Home Care accepts long-term care insurances, whereas other companies might not be able to. Services are also provided by the Village Home Care staff at nursing facilities, as the company is bonded and insured, another unique quality of the company. This allows the staff to be ready and willing to assist patients at any hour and at any location.

“We will go anywhere ‘home’ is in order to serve our customers,” said Stevens.

The staff at Village Home Care has earned an outstanding reputation for fine service and professional courtesy that has been passed down through generations. Stevens stated that it is not uncommon for children of patients to request the services for themselves when the need arises.

Stevens also is well accustomed to working with individuals who want to continue helping their parents, but because of other family responsibilities like caring for their own children, cannot help as much as they would like to. She works out plans that provide the extra coverage as needed for each person.

“We understand that a lot of individuals who take care of elderly or ailing parents are fortunate to be able to have multi-generations to care for. We want to assure them that we can help them take care of their family.”
