FALLBROOK – On June 9, representatives of Fallbrook Public Utility District held a dedication ceremony for its newest endeavor – the Solar Power Panel Project.
Located just south of 1425 Alturas Road, the solar panel project is located at the District’s wastewater treatment plant. It is comprised of 2,700 solar panels, spread out over eight acres. The system is expected to generate approximately 2.4 million kilo-watt hours of energy per year, enough to supply the treatment plant with approximately 70 percent of its energy.
FPUD representatives said it is noteworthy that with the combination of state rebates and low-cost government loans, the District is paying only half the usual cost to construct such a facility.
