I wish to express my long overdue very heartfelt thanks to Dr. Charlie Steiner, DVM, and the Avocado Animal Hospital staff. My thank-you has been delayed over a year because I have had a very difficult time even thinking about what happened to my “heart dog.” She was my “Love on a Leash” therapy German shepherd dog, Jill.
I took Jill to Dr. Steiner at age nine with a very serious allergy skin problem thinking I was really going to lose her, until Dr. Steiner’s treatment bought her two more years of good life.
Then, at 11 years of age, Jill developed a nerve problem that affected her hindquarters and bodily function. I was in Dr. Steiner’s office every morning at 8:30 for several weeks with her before she finally had to be euthanized so that she would
not suffer.
Dr. Steiner and the Avocado staff were unfailing in their kindness and empathy towards Jill and me during this terribly sad situation and the care, love, and kindness Jill received went beyond anything I would ever had expected. And, their behavior matched if not exceeded any vet’s code of ethics that has ever been written in my estimation.
Dr. Steiner is caring for ‘lil’ Jilly now, and I am more than grateful that Fallbrook has been blessed with such a wonderful veterinary hospital because everybody there makes visiting it a real pleasure!
Thank you, Dr. Steiner and Avocado staff.
