SIOUX FALLS, SD - University of Sioux Falls (USF) senior and Fallbrook High alum Cody Burgener has been named to the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), 2011 All-Conference, Baseball First-Team. Burgener, a Bonsall resident, also earned Gold Glove honors for his outstanding defensive play in the outfield.
Burgener led the Cougars with a .393 batting average and 32 stolen bases. He finished second on the team with a .607 slugging percentage, 32 runs batted in, 20 walks and six home runs.
Burgener becomes the fourth GPAC Gold Glove winner for USF since 2007, when the conference started awarding the top defensive player at each position.
USF finished the 2010-2011 season with a 26-21 overall record and a 13-9 conference record.
