I had back surgery a week ago and this was my first day out. By the time I had walked through the grocery store, I was worn out and looking forward to getting home and resting.
Going through the check-out line, I was digging through my purse and realized I had not brought my wallet or checkbook. I told the girl I was sorry but I had no money and would have to put everything back when I heard this wonderful man say, “I’ll pay for it.”
When I turned, I fully expected to see an angel standing there! And to me he was. He refused to give me his name or address as I told him I would send him a check. He just smiled and said this was something he wanted to do. He did tell me his name was James. So, please allow me to say a very heartfelt thank you to James!
He had no idea I was in pain and just wanted to get home. He was simply being a very good Samaritan. And yes, we will pay it forward. Thank you to one of the many people that make this such a special place to live.
