Camp Pendleton to fire 21-gun salute at noon on Monday, July 4

CAMP PENDLETON - In order to honor the independence of our nation, the 11th Marine Regiment will fire a 21 Gun Salute in the Mainside area here at 12 p.m., Monday, July 4.

The Marines will fire one round every five seconds until complete from 105mm Howitzers using blank ammunition.

The communities of Fallbrook and Oceanside are likely to hear noise from the salute. Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
