August Ridgely Park passed on July 19, 2011, at Silvergate Retirement Residence in Fallbrook while under hospice care. Ridgely was born in Baltimore, Md. on June 4, 1927, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Park. After serving four years in the US Navy, Ridgely returned to academia and graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in electrical engineering.
Ridgely started his employed years with Westinghouse Electronics and went on to be vice president of Precision Instruments; president of Controls Research, and prior to his retirement in 1992, director, quality systems, corporate quality assurance for 16 years with Abbott Laboratories.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Janiece; sons Craig and Michael; daughter Carol; grandson Kevin and granddaughter Michelle. He was preceded in death by his son Barry.
Graveside services will be held in Kalamazoo, Mich. at a later date.
