Retired Teacher's install new officers

FALLBROOK – California Retired Teacher’s Association (CalRTA) Avocado Division 81 installed new officers for the fiscal year 2011-2012. The new co-presidents are Lenora Sears and Sandy Bell. The co-first vice presidents are Sally Whitlock and Jewell Ford. The co-second vice presidents are Barbara Taylor and Jo Griset. Recording secretary is Bobbie Smith; corresponding secretary is Genie Summers and treasurer is Laura Choate with alternates Nancy Sawdon and Julie Ortgiesen.

Division 81 awards grants to classroom teachers in the Fallbrook school districts.

The grants help teachers purchase items that enhance the learning programs in kindergarten through high school. Division 81 is also a member of the Scholarship Foundation that awards scholarships to graduates of North County who are entering the teaching profession. Financial scholarships are awarded each May at a luncheon.
