Fallbrook favorites return Sept. 4

FALLBROOK – CAST Production’s Americana Music Series continues with the return of The Riders of the Purple Sage for a 3 p.m. matinee concert in the Mission Theatre, 231 N. Main Ave. on Sunday, Sept. 4.

“The Riders,” who usually play to capacity only audiences, bring a history dating back to 1932, when Foy Willing originated the group to host The Hollywood Barn Dance. The band appeared in over 24 motion pictures, mainly starring Gene Autry and Roy Rogers. Both artists recorded albums along with “The Riders,” according to booking director Dave Aranda-Richards. “The current members continue to perform all the original songs which stir up memories of an era fading into the past with perfect four part harmony.”

Aranda-Richards added, “Many concert goers from throughout San Diego County always attend the Riders programs in Fallbrook and that motivated us to schedule the matinee so attendees could come to Fallbrook for lunch and still beat the sunset home.”

Tickets, $20 with seats reserved, are now on sale at CAST Productions offices, or by calling (760) 731-2278. Tickets are also available online at http://www.missiontheatre.com, with a surcharge of $1.50 per ticket. All future Americana concerts are now available at http://www.fams.ws.
