Fallbrook, Oceanside trade wins in Senior Challenge Cribbage

FALLBROOK - At the June 23 Senior Challenge Cribbage match, the Fallbrook team won 73 games to Oceanside’s 67. In the July 28 match, both teams won 70 games but Oceanside had four more skunks to win the match.

The top score in both matches went to Bill McGinness. In June, he won six games with two skunks to top second place Bob Rebar who had six wins and one skunk. They were followed by John Driessen, Tom Bongard, Jean Cunningham, Ethel Williams and Roy Cook.

In the July match, Bill won all seven games to top Bob Rebar again. This time Bob had six wins and a skunk to take second again. In third through sixth place, each with five wins and a skunk were Fred Kreutzkamp, Sharon Fly, Ed Wozniak and Judy Gilbertson.

The September match will be the Senior Challenge’s 10th anniversary party. Cribbage players should mark their calendars!

The monthly matches are held on the fourth Thursday of the month at the Vista Elks Lodge, 1947 E Vista Way (760-724-1968) beginning at 12:30 p.m. The next match will be played on Aug. 25. The Elks Lodge serves lunch beginning at 11:15 a.m.
