LAKE HEMET - The National Weather Service in San Diego issued a severe weather alert for the Lake hemet area, as Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm moving north slowly through the San Jacinto Mountains.
The storm could bring with it heavy rain and hail the size of nickels with some flooding possible and wind gusts up to 50 mph, the weather service said.
The report said that Lake Hemet was in the path of the storm. Lake Hemet is in the San Jacinto Mountains, approximately 25 miles east of Hemet.
