Children's Choir and Theatre offered at Community Center

FALLBROOK – The all new Fallbrook Community Children’s Choir will begin at Fallbrook Community Center on Sept. 15. The children’s choir will rehearse and perform folk, world, classical and theatrical music every Thursday after school from 3 to 4:30 p.m. through Oct. 27.

The choir will introduce children to good vocal health techniques, introductory musicianship, note reading, easy choreography, creativity, team building and the joy of performing. Chorus will explore classical, folk, jazz, blues, pop and rock music with solo opportunities. Class will conclude with a performance for family and friends. A second session set for Nov. 3 through Dec. 15.

Musical Theatre meets on Mondays from 3 to 5 p.m., Sept. 12 through Nov. 14. This introduction to acting, singing and movement will conclude with a mini production of “Cats.” Musical Theatre involves children in team building, memorization, and creativity as they learn staging, choreography, and vocal skills.

Both classes are for boys and girls from 5 to 14 years of age. Children with little or no experience are encouraged to experience the joy and thrill of music and drama.

Instructor, Tokeli Baker, has a Masters degree in drama and several years experience working with children in chorus and theatre production.
