FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Music Society is pleased to announce its second annual gala - a magical evening entitled “When Swing Was King” - the ultimate pairing of music and dance in a tribute to the sweet sounds of Swing and the Big Band Era. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at a private home in Bonsall. Proceeds from this event will benefit Fallbrook Music Society and its youth education programs.
The Gala will include valet parking, a four-course dinner catered by “Z Cafe” of Bonsall, silent and voice auctions, and music by San Diego’s High Society Jazz Band, including a professional Swing Era dance program. The evening will conclude with dancing - all under the stars.
“Here in Fallbrook we offer many enriching, classical music concerts to the children in our schools as well as to our community,” says Brenda Montiel, president of Fallbrook Music Society. “It’s great to know that while having a fun-filled evening under the stars, our efforts are helping to promote and sustain these wonderful programs that have been part of our community for many years,” she added.
Through generous donations, there will be many wonderful silent and live auction items, such as original art, a piano concert and reception in a private home, and several entertainment packages, among many others.
Reservations for this fundraiser are $150 per person, and can be made by calling Fallbrook Music Society at (760) 451-8644 no later than Monday, Sept. 12.
