Truck sideswipes tree in downtown Fallbrook on College Street; tree loses

The driver of a truck bearing the business name Hercules Tires sideswiped an ancient pepper tree at about 8:30 a.m. this morning (Thurs. Sept. 8) as he tried to pull too close to the edge of the roadway on West College St. Limbs of the tree penetrated the metal body of the commercial vehicle. A tree service had been called to respond to the scene as the tree would have to be cut down or reduced significantly to remove the vehicle.

The tree limbs above will have to be removed by a professional tree service to extricate the vehicle.

Big limbs of the tree easily punctured the metal body of the Hercules Tire truck causing it to buckle.
