The driver of a truck bearing the business name Hercules Tires sideswiped an ancient pepper tree at about 8:30 a.m. this morning (Thurs. Sept. 8) as he tried to pull too close to the edge of the roadway on West College St. Limbs of the tree penetrated the metal body of the commercial vehicle. A tree service had been called to respond to the scene as the tree would have to be cut down or reduced significantly to remove the vehicle.
