Nearly 700 residents of the Fallbrook community attended various events on Sept. 11 to say "Thank You" to Armed Forces and emergency responders, remember the loss that occurred 10 years ago, and educate their children about the occurrence.
"We estimate about 200 people were at the hill climb, and 500 attended the remembrance ceremony," said North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD) Chief Bill Metcalf. "The Fallbrook community has done some type of remembrance ceremony since the incident occurred, and the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce has taken the lead coordinating the event."
