Award-winning garden writer to speak

FALLBROOK “ The Fallbrook Garden Club will commence its 2011-2012 season with a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 27, featuring Emmy-award winning garden writer Pat Welsh as the guest speaker. The topic for Welsh's presentation will be winter vegetables “ how to choose, plant, feed, water, harvest and control pests without synthetic fertilizers or poisonous spray.

She will show spectacular slides to complement her talk which will be loaded with special tips, hints, and little known facts that make all the difference between success and failure with winter crops. A question and answer period will follow.

The meeting starts promptly at 1 p.m. with doors opening at 12:30 p.m. The general public is cordially invited to attend. The club meets at the Fallbrook Community Center, 341 Heald Lane.
