Chiloquin closes out Del Mar with win

Chiloquin, a three-year-old gelding who was the first San Luis Rey Downs Thoroughbred Training Center horse to win a race during this year's Del Mar Thoroughbred Club meet, was also the final San Luis Rey Downs horse to win at Del Mar this year.

Chiloquin followed his Aug. 10 Real Good Deal Stakes win with a victory in the ninth race Sept. 7, which was the meet's closing day. He had a winning time of 1:15.78 in the 6 1/2-furlong race and finished three-quarters of a length in front of second-place Courtside.
