Author and mother to speak on

FALLBROOK “ Wendy Hagen, an author, blogger, wife, mother of three, and speaker, will join the ladies of Fallbrook First Baptist Church in welcoming the women of Fallbrook and their friends to an event on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7 and 8.

Hagen, the wife of Fallbrook native Shiloh Hagen, speaks all over California encouraging women and giving their abs a workout through laughter. Hagen will be speaking about the œThe Unexpected Life, knowing that for better or for worse, life does not usually turn out the way one had envisioned.

From a husband who gives his wife a trash can for an anniversary gift to the loss of a child, Hagen will bring laughter and encouragement to women living œThe Unexpected Life.

The event begins with dessert at 7 p.m. on Friday night when Hagen will speak on œI Didn't Read That in Any Parenting Books. This is not just for young moms, but also grandmothers, aunts, babysitters and friends.

After a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, she will speak about œEmbracing Balance, sharing how to take care of the emotional, physical and spiritual sides of a woman's life. Following a break and a snack, she will talk about œMarriage Matters. A woman need not be married to benefit from this subject. The principles can be applied to any relationship, present or future.

Lunch will be served followed by the last session will be about œFaith in the Unexpected Life. Hagen will share her experiences in the loss of a child, applying those experiences to the other areas of life where things take an unexpected turn: the loss of a job, home or marriage, a grim prognosis from the doctor, and other tragedies.

This session will end with a question and answer panel which will include Hagen, a woman with a long successful marriage, and a military wife, all of whom will share how God is able to provide and to help us survive œThe Unexpected Life.
