Joseph Stephen Lovasz

Joseph Stephen Lovasz died Sept. 23, 2011. He was 96.

Joe was born July 14, 1915, in N.Y., the second oldest of four sons of John and Rose Lovasz. After high school, Joe worked in the grocery business until he joined the U.S. Army. He served in the Panama Canal Zone during World War II and achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant before his discharge after the end of the war.

Joe moved to California in 1947 where he worked as a baker for Schweitzer Pie and Cake Company in Los Angeles until their closing.
