Water rate inquisition touches Fallbrook

In regards to the article “Water Authority says MWD members colluded to impose excess rates” published September 22 in the North County Times, Metropolitan Water District board member and previous General Manager of FPUD Keith Lewinger was involved in the rate hikes that are now being questioned for legality by the San Diego Water Authority and the consumer rights group UCAN.

This rate hike involves the transportation of water and resulted in an alleged overcharge of $26.6 million. This rate hike was also shared by the citizens of Fallbrook and I wonder if this is irony or simply poor judgment...
