Pedley man who whipped, hit, bound baby and toddler to be sentenced

RIVERSIDE - A Pedley man who whipped, hit, bound and gagged his 4- month-old and 2-year-old daughters is expected to be sentenced today to 10 years in state prison.

Jeremiah Eugene Scott, 24, pleaded guilty last month to three counts of child abuse, cultivating marijuana and battery resulting in injuries.

He was originally charged with two counts each of torture, child endangerment and corporal injury to a child, as well as illegally growing marijuana, but the charges were reduced under a plea deal reached with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office. He could have faced life in prison...
