Major Use Permit granted for car wash and auto service shop

The county’s Planning Commission voted 7-0 Oct. 7 to grant a Major Use Permit for the construction and operation of a car wash and automotive service shop.

The site in the 900 block of East Mission Road already has a gas station and a convenience retail store, which are allowed by right with the 1.68-acre parcel’s C36 general commercial zoning. The gas station and convenience store will continue to operate, although the car wash building will include a small store which could replace the existing retail operation.
