19-year-old Marine Lance Cpl. Jordan S. Bastean mourned

RIVERSIDE - Friends and family today were mourning a 19-year-old Twentynine Palms-based Marine who was killed in combat in Afghanistan.

Lance Cpl. Jordan S. Bastean of Pekin, Ill., was killed Sunday in Helmand province, near the Pakistan border, according to the Pentagon.

Bastean, who deployed just last month, was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment at Twentynine Palms.

He is the 23rd Marine from Twentynine Palms killed in Afghanistan....
