Rainbow Planning Group voices concerns over SDGE shutoff plan and those who rely on electric medical equipment

The Rainbow Planning Group board voiced its concerns regarding San Diego Gas & Electric’s (SDGE) operating procedures during extreme weather.

According to Stephanie Donovan, senior communications manager for SDGE, SDG&E proposed (in 2008) an “Emergency Power Shut-Off” plan that included very specific weather-related triggers, as well as extensive community outreach and assistance for customers in the event of an outage similar to those caused by the 2007 wildfires.
