Man, Apparently Unarmed, Robs Temecula Bank by Passing Note to Teller

TEMECULA - Authorities today are searching for a man who robbed a Provident Bank in Temecula by passing a note demanding cash to a teller, the sheriff's department said.

Deputies responded at 9:40 a.m. Thursday to the bank in the 40000 block of Winchester Road, where the man had left on foot carrying an undisclosed amount of cash, according to sheriff's Sgt. Will Edwards.

Witnesses did not see a weapon and no one was injured, Edwards said.

The suspect was described as white, in his late 30s to early 40s, about 6 feet tall and 185 to 210 pounds, Edwards said. He was carrying a black-and- white canvas bag and was wearing a white baseball cap with a Hurley logo on the front and a blue-hooded zip-up sweatshirt, light blue jeans and white shoes, with sunglasses perched on the hat, Edwards said.

Authorities ask anyone with information to call the sheriff's department at (951) 696-3000.
