Also serving the communities of De Luz, Rainbow, Camp Pendleton, Pala and Pauma
California Retired Teachers Week will be observed November 6-12. This recognition of retired teachers is sponsored by the California Retired Teachers Association.
After they retire, teachers continue to contribute their time and talents. Last year, 2.6 million hours were provided by members of the CalRTA. These hours were worth fifty four million dollars. Donated time consists of such things as tending to the ill, knitting items for hospitals and care facilities, helping in a library, hospital or church, tutoring in classrooms, donating blood, serving on Boards of CalRTA, and other organizations.
Retired educators contribute significantly to their communities and improve the quality of life for many people.
