Lords celebrate 50th anniversary

FALLBROOK – Dottie and Norm Lord, residents of Fallbrook for ten years, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a two-day event that included 40 members of their family.

Dottie and Norm have three sons and seven grandchildren. Brad, the oldest son, flew from London, England with his son and three daughters; son Scott came from Carlsbad with his daughter; and son Matt and his wife Paulina came from La Jolla with a son and daughter. Other guests at the celebration traveled from out of state.

Norm, who served as a naval aviator for nearly thirty years, retired as a Captain.

Dottie and Norm met while students at Chico State University. Growing up, Dottie’s dream was to travel, and travel she did. The family moved over 35 times, lived in eight states including Hawaii as well as in Japan and the Philippines. The couple, who has traveled in 49 of 50 states, said they are looking forward to their next 50 years together in Fallbrook.
