Rare fruit seminar offered Nov. 18

OCEANSIDE – The California Rare Fruit Growers, North San Diego County Chapter is proud to present a free public evening event on Friday, Nov. 18 featuring Ben Pierce, expert fruit grower, as he shows how one can easily create healthier and more abundant fruiting plants in the garden.

Pierce will cover organic sprays, what they’re good for, how to use them, when best to apply, and how to make an organic spray recipe using basic ingredients.

Following the presentation will be a Q&A session where Pierce will answer questions about improving the health and yield of fruiting plants.

Pierce has been a member of the California Rare Fruit Growers (CRFG) since 1991, is the immediate past president of the North San Diego County Chapter of the CRFG, and is currently a board member of the national CRFG organization. Currently he farms a 1/2 acre lot in suburban San Marcos.

The seminar will be held at Oceanside’s Mira Costa College, Student Center Room 3450 at 7 p.m.
