Arts, Quilts & Craft Show Nov. 19 to help feed seniors

FALLBROOK – On Saturday, November 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the talented seniors at Rancho Monserate Country Club will present ‘The Holiday Show for Quilts, Arts, Crafts, and Music.’ Admission is free.

Offered will be quilts, small quilted projects, items for pets, shawls, pillowcases, oil paintings, stitchery, carved and painted gourds, woodcarvings, knitted and crocheted items, and more.

Sandy Scott, a quilt artist, has donated a small quilt for a drawing. The quilt ticket proceeds will go to the Fallbrook Food Pantry.

Goodies including homemade cookies, cakes, and more will be offered in the Bake Sale area. Proceeds go to the nonprofit organization Angel Depot which helps feed some of the 50,000 senior citizens in San Diego County who are living below the poverty level.

A variety of musical numbers will be played by the jazz band ‘Rose and Her Two Thorns,’ with piano selections by Dick Adams and Marlys Holman.

Rancho Monserate Country Club is located off Old Highway 395 at 4650 Dulin Road (look for signs). Parking is available on the street. The event will be held in the clubhouse.

Additionally, Evelyn Ruckman, AKA Grammy, has been sewing stuffed animals for 5 years and donating them to children in both San Diego County and India. She has approximately 400 of these little critters out there as she has donated to shelters, Salvation Army, Camp Pendleton, and children’s hospitals.

She is always looking for other local charities that help children ages 2 through 7, and that could use these little home-sewn animals. She will be at the Quilts, Arts, Crafts and Music Show, where she sells her homemade aprons and uses the money to buy material and stuffing to make her animals. Anyone interested can meet her there and leave the name and phone number of their organization.
