Vehicle's License Number Leads to Arrest of Suspected Bank Robbers

RIVERSIDE - Riverside police used the license number of the getaway car to track down two men suspected of trying to rob a bank in Riverside, officers said today.

The robbery was at about 9 a.m. Saturday, when a man handed a note demanding money to a teller at the USBank branch at 3590 Central Ave., Riverside police Lt. Bruce Blomdahl said.

But the would-be robber fled the bank before he got any cash, he said.
